July 31, 2009

My short story ‘The Mumpers’ will be broadcast on BBC Radio 4 on Tuesday August 4th at 3.30pm. If you miss it, or if you are overseas, the full 15 minute story will also be online on BBC’s ‘listen again’ website for one week after broadcast.

Banchory

July 31, 2009

Today I did a reading at Banchory library and met a lady who also had Traveller relatives from Elgin. I’ve had a few people come up to me at events who have probably got distant family connections, and it’s always especially nice to meet them. Thanks to Vicky at Yeadon’s bookshop for organising the event.

We followed the reading with a visit to the Falls of Feugh where we watched the salmon  leaping. It was great! For other salmon-related projects that I was involved with earlier this year (with Chris Dooks), click here.

I’ve just come back from a week in my tent on Taransay, and had to share my holiday book with you because I enjoyed it so much. Click the cover for more information.
